We’re always reluctant to leave the Cays, but we’re nearing the month’s end & need to continue south. Sailing over to Union Island, we spent a night in Chatham Bay prior to sailing around to Clifton Harbour to clear out through Customs & Immigration.
Entering Clifton Harbour, Union Island

After checking into Carriacou, we walked over to Arawak Divers to redeem a voucher (2-person, 2-tank dive) I won as part of a silent auction benefiting the Carriacou Childrens Education Fund held last July. Our first trip Friday morning was an exciting drift dive along the western side of Mabouya Island (just north of Tyrrel Bay.) Our second trip on Monday morning was another (inadvertent) drift dive along the sloping shelfs, ledges & boulders south of Tyrrel Bay. Both were excellent dives, full of diverse terrain, reef fish, corals & sea creatures!
Underwater Pictures from Diving (L to R: Azure Vase Sponge, Nurse Shark, Spotted Drum, Orangespotted Filefish, Spotted Moray Eel)

Snorkeling Excursion (L to R: ‘El Capitan’, Zippy our Wonder Car at Anchor, Ball of Bait Fish, Mangrove Upsidedown Jellies)

The following day, we bid adieux to Carriacou & sailed south towards Grenada.
“Makai” is a Hawiian word that means ‘to go towards the sea’
